'bo'- the jousting war horse

Bo (real name Luso) is a 33-year-old Lusitano from Portugal.

Bo has appeared in many films like Gladiator, and on tv in Sharpe and in ads like Lloyds.

Jaki bought Bo in 2000 and started by learning skill at arms, medieval hunting, the art of horse combat and the joust. In 2005 Jaki became the first ever female in English history to joust in full plate armour as a woman. Before this, women had been banned from the sport and any that had taken part had been disguised as men and only discovered by accident.

Nowadays both are retired from the excitement. They live locally, Bo enjoying the company of two Lusitano mares.

You can meet Bo and Jaki in the Tithe Barn front yard on Sunday 7th December at 12.40pm - 2pm and they will be leading the procession from the Yarn Market at 2pm.
